Selecting a Look for your FA/FC Website

A very popular feature of your site is the ability to choose from a select number designs or “styles”. Not only can you select the look that best represents the message you want to convey on the Internet, but you can also change it anytime you'd like – for no additional charge. The “Define the Look” tab in Site Assistant is where you go to make this happen. This Help Guide will walk you through the steps of accomplishing this simple, yet powerful task.


How to Register a Domain Name for your FA/FC Website

Having your own domain name is a great way to “brand” your business on the Internet. We make it easy for you to search for an available name, and then register it with just a few simple steps.  Your website can have as many domain names associated with it as you wish; however, you will need to select only one to be the primary domain for your e-mail account (name@yourdomain.com) if you elect the upgraded package. The first domain name you choose to register is included free with your web site and can be secured using the Pre Paid or Promo Code included in your Welcome information. Additional domain names are available at our current rates. Contact us through our toll free number or via the Web site should you need additional assistance.

This Help Guide will help you understand how to access the Site Admin area where you can register your new domain name.

The “Web Site Security” tab allows you to 1) create user accounts for e-mail and your Intranet, 2) grant and restrict access to specific pages within your site, and 3) grant and restrict access to the administration areas of your Web site.

Setting Up Email Accounts

Our service provides you with a unique domain name for your Flooring America/Flooring Canada store web site.  If you elect to upgrade to one of the option packages, we include up to 25 e-mail accounts, giving you an opportunity to give your staff and/or associates their own e-mail related to your business. If you haven't transferred your existing domain or registered a new domain name, you'll need to do this first before you can utilize the e-mail features. This Help Guide will instruct you in how to set up your e-mail accounts and begin to use them.

Once your domain name has been transferred or registered successfully and you can access your Web site using your new Web address, the first thing you should do is to set up your own e-mail account. Once that is completed, you can add up to 24 additional accounts through your Web site.

One of the valuable features that your new Flooring America/Flooring Canada web site offers is the ability to quickly create your own Special Offer web page content.  Based on current ads available on the Flooring America/Canada Circular system you will be able to select from any available products taking advantage of the professional quality pre-selected images, descriptive text and more.  You will also be able to adjust the pricing to your specific market, if needed.

Customer Contact Management Overview

When a customer visits the Flooring America or Flooring Canada Corporate web sites, or your store specific web site, they do so because of an interest in at least one of the many products and services we provide.  Once they discover that we do have the answer for their flooring needs, the next logical step they will take is to contact you via phone directly, find your location and map and stop by in person or use one of the several links available on the web sites to Request a Consultation or Request a Premeasure. 


The leads you receive via these Request links are HOT and you will want to follow up with these prospects as soon as possible.  But how are these E mail leads directed to you?

Using the Custom Page Editor

Do you have a specific layout or page design in mind?  If you can't find what you want with the other optional pages, simply create your own with a Custom page. The Custom page features an editor tool bar that is similar to several word processing programs allowing you to create Web pages for your site without the restrictions of the other preformatted optional pages.  

This Help Guide will walk you through using the most common features of the Custom page.


Using the Gallery Page

The Gallery page can be used to create multiple online photo galleries. You can use this page to showcase your facilities, products or events. You can also password-protect this page and use it for in-house viewing only to let employees view photos of company get-togethers.

This Help Guide will give instructions on how to add a Gallery Page and upload photos to the page.


Using the Photo Album

The Photo Album functionality allows you to create as many separate photo albums as you want and include a short description about each one. You can then upload as many pictures as you desire for each album, even provide a description of each photo. Our upload tool will automatically resize and optimize for the web automatically.


Using the Guestbook

The Guestbook functionality places a powerful communication tool in your hands. Following are two key ways in which it may be utilized:

1.     To send an E mail directly to your Guestbook members.  Whenever you want to send an E mail notification to members of your Guestbook, you can enter web site administration, select the Guestbook page then compose and send a message as well as include an attachment, if desired.

2.      When used in conjunction with the Important Dates page. Whenever you add an event to the Important Dates page, you can send an E-mail reminder or announcement of the event to all members in your Guestbook.

Visitors to your site can "sign" your Guestbook by submitting their contact information. This information is automatically stored for you, creating a database of your visitors. You also have the capability of bulk uploading a pre-established list.  The system will also notify you via E mail when someone visits your Guestbook and adds their contact information.


Using the Important Dates Page

The Important Dates page has multiple purposes. You may want to post Upcoming Dates and Events that you want all visitors of your site to see, complete with descriptions.  Using the Editor tool to create a message where you can add graphics, change font colors and styles and more will make this page come alive!

 

To achieve even greater functionality, when you add any Guestbook page to your site and then add a date to an entry in your Important Dates page, you will have the option to send all of the members of your Guestbook a reminder of the event, sent on the date you specify.


How to Use Your Storage Vault

 The File Storage area is designed to be a central repository or storage vault to upload various types of files you may desire to link to or reference from most pages offering text boxes throughout your site. It has an initial total file capacity of 5MB but can be adjusted to meet your unique needs.  Use this Help Guide for information on how to use this area.

If you have E mail provided with your web site account, you can take advantage of our SpamGuard spam and virus control.  While no system can completely eliminate spam, SpamGuard can greatly reduce the volume of unsolicited messages you receive.

This Help Guide includes information about what spam is, an overview of how our SpamGuard system works, how to activate SpamGuard and use of the administration tools.
